Twipsy is the official mascot of the Hannover exposition, created by Javier Mariscal, selected from 17 proposals, is meant to represent Mankind, Nature and Technology, the Expo motto, and is formed by different elements, wearing a high heel shoe on one foot and a flat one on the other, body is formed by star, cell, bird, insect, mammal parts, with half moon shaped head.
Additionally to celebrate Hannover expo, Cuba minted a series of coins, recalling other world expositions previously held in the world.

This coin reminds the Universal Exposition at Philadelphia (also known as Centennial Exposition, for being hosted at the U.S. Centennial).
Esteemed 10 million people visited this exposition, celebrated from May 10th. to Nov. 10th., 1876, and 35 countries participated. Building was erected for this purpose, with a extension of 115 ha. being the biggest building in the world at that moment, later the building was dismantled an sold on 1881.
Many important inventions were presented or exposed at the Exposition, like sewing machine, typing machine, phone, and Thonet chair.
