Variants: The variation on the obverse, is that two versions of cuban arms were used, one with plain strips on left side of coat, and thin wreath, and the other with reeded strips on coat and thick wreath.On left variant for KM# 227.1; on right for KM# 227.2.
Tobacco plant (Nicotiana Tabacum), of American origin, is used to cigars, pipe tobacco and cigarettes. The cuban tobacco is considered the best of the world, owing to its special climate, and techniques of cultivation. When europeans reached America, natives already smoked tobacco.
