Pieces are reported to weigh 5.35-8.28g by Erwin Schäffer and Bogdan Stambuliu in "Romania: Designs, Patterns, Coins and Catalogue of Issued Coins", Galeria Numismatică, 2009. #1 page 23.Interesting fact
The Pattern 5 Parale coin was designed by a French engraver named Alphée Dubois, who was commissioned by the Romanian government to create a new coinage system for the country. Dubois' design features a portrait of a young woman representing the allegory of "Agriculture" on the obverse side, and a depiction of a wheat sheaf on the reverse side. The coin was minted in 1860, and it was intended to be used as a standard circulating coin in Romania. However, due to various political and economic factors, the coin was never widely circulated and is now considered a rare collector's item.
