The 5 Paise coin from India, made of Aluminium (96.5-96% Aluminium, 3.5-4% Magnesium) and weighing 1.5g, was the first coin in India to feature the national emblem of India, the Lion Capital of Ashoka, on its reverse side. This design was introduced in 1972 and continued until 1984.
