Interesting fact
The 5 Naye Paise coin was introduced in 1957 and was the first coin to feature the national emblem of India, which is a lion standing on the Ashoka Chakra, a wheel with 24 spokes. This emblem was adopted as the national symbol of India after independence from British rule in 1947. The coin's design was created by the Indian sculptor and artist, Chittaranjan Das.
