The People's Republic of Mozambique (1975-1990) had two Coat of Arms (First: 1975 - 1982 & Second: 1982-1990) However, the first Coat of Arms appeared on coins issued till 1994.The new coat of arms i.e. Republic of Mozambique (1990-) appears on coins from 1994 issues.
Interesting fact
The 5 Meticais coin from Mozambique was designed by the artist José de Almada Negreiros, who was a prominent figure in the country's artistic community.
