This coin commemorates an ancient town, which has a rich history, and which is located in Poltava oblast on the Lokhvytsia River. The town was first mentioned in historical sources in 1320 as an ancient Rus settlement on Pereiaslav territories. In the middle of the 17th century the town was granted Magdeburg rights and a coat of arms. During the national liberation struggle of the Ukrainian people the Lokhvytsia Cossack Community (Sotnia) took part in many battles as part of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi's army.Date of issue 27.08.2020
