The 5 Hryven (Currency Reform) 2006 coin from Ukraine is unique in that it features a distinctive "split-level" design, with the obverse (front) side featuring a raised area with the coin's denomination and year of issue, while the reverse (back) side has a lower area with the coat of arms of Ukraine and the inscription "National Bank of Ukraine." This design element was implemented to make the coin easily distinguishable from other coins in circulation and to prevent counterfeiting.
