Sp#3397, KM#460.1 (1687-88) Similar bust, sceptres normal, larger crowns;
Sp#3398, KM#460.2 (1687-88) Elephant and castle below bust, similar reverse.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 5 Guineas - James II (1st bust) coin is that it was minted during a time of great turmoil in England. James II was the last Catholic monarch to rule England, and his reign was marked by conflicts with Parliament and the Glorious Revolution of 1688, which resulted in his overthrow and the ascension of William III and Mary II to the throne. Despite this tumultuous period, the coin remains a valuable and sought-after collector's item among numismatists.
