Interesting fact
This coin was designed by French sculptor and engraver, Albert Bazor, and features a portrait of Marshal Philippe Pétain, who served as the Chief of State of Vichy France during World War II. The coin was minted in 1942, during a time when France was under German occupation, and was intended to be used as a circulating currency. However, due to the war, the coin was never officially released and most of the minted coins were melted down. As a result, this coin is now considered a rare and valuable collector's item.
