Interesting fact

The Pattern 5 Francs coin from Rwanda was designed by the famous French engraver and sculptor, Auguste C. M. Patey. Patey was known for his work on various coins and medals, including the French franc and the Belgian franc. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of King Kigeri V, while the reverse depicts a traditional Rwandan hut and a coffee tree. The coin was minted in 1964, but it was never officially released into circulation. Instead, it was kept as a pattern coin, which is a trial coin that is produced to test the design and production process. As a result, the Pattern 5 Francs coin from Rwanda is a rare and valuable collector's item.
