Comment

The Shrine of the Pilgrim, in which Our Lady is venerated the Pilgrim, is one of the most representative buildings in the city of Pontevedra. Built in the 18th century, its plant recalls the shape of a scallop shell, the universal symbol of the pilgrimage to Santiago. Located in the center of the city, on the route of the Portuguese Way, it was built with the financial contributions of the Brotherhood of the Pilgrim and is declared a Site of Cultural Interest.

Interesting fact

The Pontevedra silver coin from Spain features a unique design that showcases the city's rich history and culture. The obverse side of the coin depicts a representation of the city's historic center, including the Church of the Pilgrims and the City Hall. The reverse side features a portrait of the Spanish king, Juan Carlos I. This coin is a rare and valuable collector's item, with only 5,000 units minted.
