After the four-leafed clover (Marsilea quadrifolia) and the Algarve alcar (Tuberaria major), this is the third coin in the "Threatened Plant Species" series, which aims to promote the knowledge and preservation of species of national flora currently in danger. Like the two that preceded it, the coin dedicated St. John´s horsemint was designed by the national and international award-winning illustrator Catarina Sobral.Interesting fact
