Comment

The city of Recanati probably originated from the ruins of an ancient Roman town called Ricina and flourished during the Middle Ages. Known as a city of art, rich in Renaissance and Baroque palaces and wonderful examples of religious architecture, just like the church of St. Augustine with its beautiful Gothic cloister, Recanati is also famous for being the hometown of Giacomo Leopardi, one of the greatest Italian poets.
