Comment

In 1875 some coins were released with an inverted anchor privy mark.

These coins (along with other 5 franc coins of the Latin Monetary Union) saw frequent circulation in El Salvador until they were withdrawn on September 3rd, 1892.

Interesting fact

The 5 Drachmai coin featuring George I (2nd portrait) was minted during a time of significant economic and political change in Greece. The country was facing financial difficulties and political instability, which led to the adoption of the "New Drachma" in 1876, replacing the "Old Drachma" at a rate of 1:10. This coin, minted in 1875-1876, was part of the transition period and features a unique design that sets it apart from other coins of the time.
