Comment
This coin is listed in Luigi Pigorini's 1862 book and in Lorenzo Bellasia's 1997 book. It has never been found, and weighs 32 grams of gold, like other Italian coins of the same type from this period, minted in Parma, Modena or Mantova. It is highly probable that it was struck with the same corners as the Ducatone.
The coin design is by Luigi Pigorini (1842 - 1925).
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 5 Doppie coin from the Principality of Compiano is that it features an image of Federico Landi, who was a prominent figure in the region during the 17th century. He was known for his military leadership and his contributions to the local economy, and his image on the coin reflects his importance in the history of the region.
