Comment

8 denominations of "Bingle" coins produced by the US government to be given to settlers of the ARRC (Alaska Rural Rehabilitation Corporation) in Matanuska Valley, Alaska. The 1935 Matanuska Colony Project provided 30 dollars in these coins for adults and 5 dollars for children. Original mintage of 1000, most of which was melted down following the colony's switch to US coinage in 1937 . A commemorative set was released in 1985, struck from the newly discovered original dies.
