Fáfnir is, in the Sigurd cycle of Norse mythology, the son of Hreidmar and brother of Regin and Ótr, originally a relatively powerful dwarf, who, after seizing his father's cursed treasure, takes the form of a dragon in order to protect it. He is finally put to death at the instigation of his own brother Regin, by the hero Sigurd. (Source : www.wikipedia.org)Interesting fact
