On March 18, 2023, a devastating fire engulfed the historic center of Banská Štiavnica, and the flames seriously damaged a number of buildings whose value is incalculable.
The special edition gold coin with the motif of Banská Štiavnica differs from the regular issue by the commemorative stamp and manual numbering on the back of the postcard in which the coin is inserted. A portion of the sale of each coin is donated for the reconstruction of the city.
