Comment

The 1946C issue is an anomaly as published mint reports and unpublished mint accounting records do not indicate a 1946 10 cent being minted. It appears as though it was minted during 1947 and the mintages may be false for the 1946C and 1947C.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 5 Cents - George VI 1944-1947 coin from Newfoundland is that it was minted during a time when the province was still a separate dominion from Canada, before it joined Confederation in 1949. This coin was minted in 1944, 1945, 1946, and 1947, and it features an image of King George VI on one side and a depiction of a schooner on the other. The coin was made of silver, with a composition of 80% silver and 20% copper, and it weighs 1.166 grams.
