Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1866 Nickel is that it was designed by a man named James B. Longacre, who was the Chief Engraver of the United States Mint at the time. Longacre's design features a portrait of Lady Liberty on the obverse (front) side of the coin, and an image of a Roman numeral "V" on the reverse (back) side, representing the coin's denomination of five cents. Despite being a pattern coin and not intended for circulation, the 1866 Nickel is still highly sought after by collectors today due to its historical significance and rarity.
