Interesting fact
The 5 Centimes coin from Commune of Le Vigan (Department of Gard) was minted in 1962, and it features the image of a young woman representing the Republic of France on its obverse side. The reverse side of the coin depicts the value of the coin, "5 Centimes," surrounded by a wreath of olive branches. Aluminum was used as the material for this coin to reduce the cost of production and to make it more durable than traditional copper or silver coins.
