Comment
All unsold copies of the 1974 to 1985 vintages were destroyed by Monnaie de Paris in 1986.For orders of a complete series of one vintage, Monnaie de Paris delivered in a bag with an individual certificate and, on request, with a blue case stamped "Monnaie de Paris".
- Until 1978, the bags had to be removed to be stored in the round cases.
- From 1979 to 1985, square-cell cases were used to store coins with their bags and certificates.
These complete sets are very rare (references range from Gem291.CPC1 to Gem291.CPC15).
From 1960 to 1970, coins were delivered in individual gray cardboard cases.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Pattern 5 Centimes Marianne (Piéfort Bronze-Aluminium) 1966-1985 from France is that it was designed by the French sculptor and engraver, Auguste C. L. Pétel. Pétel was a prominent artist during the 20th century and was known for his work on various coins and medals. The Marianne design he created for this coin was meant to symbolize the spirit of the French Republic and was used on various denominations of French coins during this time period.
