Comment
The material used is actually a zinc-alloy, a spelter. The term in Dutch is 'handelszink', literally translated as 'trade zinc'.Interesting fact
The 5 Centimes coin featuring Léopold III was minted during the German occupation of Belgium during World War II. The coin was designed by the Belgian artist, Charles Graux, and it features a portrait of King Léopold III on one side and the Belgian coat of arms on the other. Despite being minted during a time of war and occupation, the coin was still legal tender in Belgium and was widely used in circulation.
