Light in weight (1.5g instead of 2g), this test seems to have been struck on a nickel silver blank (as for the 1938 tests which weigh 1.5g) but the appearance of the metal is that of cupronickel.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Pattern 5 centimes Lindauer (Essai en cupronickel, poids léger) 1920 from France is that it was designed by French artist and engraver, Charles Lindauer. Lindauer was known for his work on various French coins and banknotes, and his design for this coin features a stylized portrait of a young woman representing France, surrounded by a wreath of flowers and leaves. The coin's design was meant to symbolize the renewal and rebirth of France after World War I.
