Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Pattern 5 centimes (Essai en maillechort de Merley, type II à 16 pans) 1887 from France made of Nickel silver weighing 2.6 g is that it was designed by French engraver and designer, Jean-Baptiste Merley. Merley was known for his work on various French coins and banknotes, and his design for the 5 centimes coin features a unique pattern of 16 pans (a pan is a small, stylized flower) on the obverse, which gives the coin its distinctive look.
