Comment
Test countermarked with a number (10 above) on the obverse. 20 known copies numbered from 1 to 20. It is possible that the number is even higher. This series is characterized by low relief. The coins have been cast, unlike the 1908 silver trials which were not countermarked. These coins are pure technical trials. Here the aspect of the engraving is not important, only the physical characteristics of the metal are appreciated. They also show a sketch of what would be the future 1908 silver coinage.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Pattern 5 centimes Daniel-Dupuis (Essai en argent, contremarqué) 1908 from France is that it was designed by French sculptor and engraver, Daniel-Dupuis, and features a unique design that showcases the profile of a young woman wearing a Phrygian cap, symbolizing liberty, on the obverse side.
