Interesting fact
The Pattern 5 Cent coin from French Indochina was designed by the French engraver, Ernest-Pierre Ménager. Ménager was a renowned engraver who also designed several other coins for France and its colonies during the early 20th century. The coin features a unique pattern that showcases the country's rich cultural heritage, with an image of a traditional Vietnamese dragon boat on one side and the French colonial coat of arms on the other. The use of aluminum in the coin's minting process was also a notable innovation at the time, as it was a relatively new material in the production of coins.
