These were cast in early 1644.Interesting fact
The 5 Cash coin from the Chongzhen era (1644) was the first coin to feature the character "Hu" (胡) on its reverse side, which was a departure from the traditional "Tongbao" (通寶) design used in previous dynasties. This change was made to indicate that the coin was issued by the Southern Ming dynasty, which was established by the Ming loyalist regime in the south of China after the fall of the Ming dynasty in 1644.
