Interesting fact
The 5 Baht coin featuring King Maha Vajiralongkorn's first portrait was released in 2018 to commemorate his coronation. It was the first time in Thai history that a coin had been issued with the image of a reigning monarch. The coin's design features the king's portrait on one side and the Thai emblem on the other. The coin's unique feature is that it has a copper-nickel clad copper core, which gives it a distinctive color and durability.
