Comment

Herinek mentions a fineness of .258 for such coins minted in Klagenfurt in 1621.
The variant with a rooster as mint mark (Andreas Händl) is 1622 (Herinek#820) (1623 in Krause erroneously).

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 48 Kipper Kreuzer coin is that it was issued during a time of economic turmoil in the Austrian Empire. The Kipper Kreuzer was a emergency currency introduced by Emperor Ferdinand II in 1621 to address a shortage of small denomination coins. The coin was made of billon, a mixture of silver and copper, and was designed to be easily distinguishable from other coins in circulation. Despite its humble origins, the 48 Kipper Kreuzer coin has become a sought-after collector's item among numismatists today.
