Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 40 Réis - João VI (Rio de Janeiro) 1820 coin from Mozambique is that it was minted during the time of Portuguese colonial rule in Mozambique, which lasted from 1797 to 1975. The coin features the image of King João VI of Portugal on one side and the coat of arms of Portugal on the other. It was made of copper and weighs 6.2 grams. Despite being minted in Mozambique, the coin was not used as a form of currency in the country, but rather as a token of allegiance to the Portuguese crown. Today, this coin is considered a rare and valuable collector's item, and its historical significance makes it an interesting piece of African numismatic history.
