Comment

The coins of 1895/1896 were minted at the Casa de Mondea de Madrid (Spain) under Alfonso XIII (Alfonso León Fernando María Jaime Isidro Pascual Antonio de Borbón y Habsburgo-Lorena).

Interesting fact

The 40 Centavos coin from Puerto Rico, minted in 1896, is interesting because it was one of the first coins to feature the portrait of King Alfonso XIII of Spain, who was the monarch at the time. This coin was also unique because it was made of silver (.835) and weighed 10 grams, which was a significant departure from the standard copper or nickel coins that were commonly used in circulation at the time.
