Comment
Illustrated coin on this page is the Restelli# 21 itself.Interestingly, this coin was somewhat wrongly described in the original sale catalogue with extrapolated letterings while this is rather due to the coin having been stroke multiple times; traces can be seen on obverse with the D and V letters overlap and shadows around HOSPI and HIERVS, along with on reverse the overlap in AGNVS and the shift visible between 7h and 8h.
Interesting fact
The 4 Tari coin from Malta, which features Jean de Vallette, was minted during his reign as the Grand Master of the Order of Saint John (1557-1568). It's made of silver and weighs 10.56 grams. Interestingly, the coin's design features a unique blend of Christian and Islamic influences, reflecting the cultural exchange and diversity that existed in Malta during that time period.
