Interesting fact
The 4 Reales coin from Peru, minted during the reign of Philip IV (1659-1660), features an interesting design element - a small image of the Viceroy of Peru, Luis Enríquez de Guzmán, Count of Alba de Liste, on the reverse side. This is a unique feature among coins of that time, as it was not common to include the image of a viceroy or other local authority on a coin. It is believed that the inclusion of the viceroy's image was a way to emphasize the authority and power of the Spanish crown in the Americas.
