Comment

Due to the War of the Pacific between Chile and Peru, an outflow of underweight silver coinage forced the Guatemalan government to debase their low denomination coinage.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1892 Guatemalan 4 Reales coin is that it features a unique design on its reverse side. Instead of the usual national emblem or coat of arms, the coin bears an image of a volcano, which is a nod to the country's natural landscape and geological features. This design element sets the coin apart from other coins of the same era and makes it a distinctive collector's item.
