Catálogo de Monedas y Ensayos de la República del Paraguay. Miguel Angel Pratt Mayans, 2013 (M12)
Gold Coins of the World. Robert Friedberg; 2017 (Fr-1)

This piece is from the first series of gold coins issued for Paraguay, and the only type struck before the modern era.
Just a handful of specimens outside, such as one in the 1988 Guia sale, one sold privately roughly 40 years ago, one in the 1908 Ulex sale, and one in the museum in Rio de Janeiro. Following the fire at the museum last September 2018, the Rio specimen may no longer be extant.
Accordingly, for the collector of South American rarities, this is assuredly near the top of the list, and is almost never available on the market.

Estimated value range: USD 40000 - 60000

Interesting fact

The Pattern 4 Pesos Fuertes (Gold "Bouvet" Pattern) 1867 from Paraguay is a rare and unique coin, with only 15 known examples minted. It was created as a pattern coin, meaning it was not intended for circulation but rather as a prototype or sample for a potential new coin design. The coin's design features a portrait of Paraguayan leader Francisco Solano López on one side and the national coat of arms on the other. The coin's rarity and historical significance make it a highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists.
