Interesting fact
The 4 Mark Dansk coin featuring Frederik III (Type IV) was minted during a time of great change in Denmark. In 1658, the year the coin was minted, Denmark was in the midst of a devastating war with Sweden, known as the Second Northern War. Despite the challenges posed by the war, the Danish mint was able to produce a significant number of coins, including this particular issue. The coin's design, featuring an image of King Frederik III on one side and the Danish coat of arms on the other, was meant to symbolize the strength and resilience of the Danish people during this difficult period.
