Interesting fact
The 4 Mark Dansk coin from Denmark, minted between 1694 and 1696, features a unique design element - a laurel wreath surrounding the king's portrait. This wreath was added to the coin's design to symbolize the king's victory over the Swedish forces during the Scanian War. The inclusion of this symbolism was a bold move by the Danish mint, as it was a direct reference to the ongoing conflict with Sweden, and it demonstrated the coin's connection to the political and military events of the time.
