By Alvará 19MAY1646 the value of the "4 Cruzados" was raised from 3000 to 3.500 Réis.
By Law 20NOV1662 (only applied in 1663) the value was raised again to 4000 Réis using a stamp "Crowned 4"; new coins with the value/date on the obverse started being minted.
The above coin is a PhotoShop work based in a coin from the INCM Museun with three countermarks.

Interesting fact

The 4 Cruzados coin from Portugal, minted between 1660 and 1663, features an interesting design element - the portrait of King Afonso VI on the obverse (front side) is surrounded by a wreath made of olive branches, symbolizing peace and prosperity.
