By Alvará 19MAY1646 the value of the "4 Cruzados" was raised from 3000 to 3.500 Réis.By Law 20NOV1662 (only applied in 1663) the value was raised again to 4000 Réis using a stamp "Crowned 4"; new coins with the value/date on the obverse started being minted.

Interesting fact
The 4 Cruzados coin from Portugal, minted between 1660 and 1663, features an interesting design element - the portrait of King Afonso VI on the obverse (front side) is surrounded by a wreath made of olive branches, symbolizing peace and prosperity.
