Comment

This 1 kilo Fine Gold coin issued by the Perth Mint portrays the classic artistry of a bounding ‘Red Kangaroo' encircled by symbolic rays of sunshine. This $3000 face value coin has been issued with the same reverse since 2006.

Issued annually since 1987, the range of trusted Perth Mint releases offer an outstanding choice of pure gold, silver and platinum coins, each authorised by the Australian Government as official legal tender.
Of the range of five 2018 Australian Kangaroo Gold Bullion Coins, the 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, and 1/10oz sizes showcase a new design featuring two kangaroos bounding across a rural landscape.

The series is available in 1 kilo 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz and 1/10oz sizes. Whilst the 1 kilo and 1oz coins are not limited in mintage the 1/2oz, 1/4oz, and 1/10oz will be limited to mintages of 100,000, 150,000 and 200,000 respectively.

All coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and bear the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the year-date on the obverse.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design that showcases the Australian kangaroo, which is a symbol of the country's rich wildlife and natural heritage. The coin's design also includes the profile of Queen Elizabeth II, who has been the monarch of Australia since 1952. The combination of these two elements makes the coin a distinctive and valuable collector's item for those interested in numismatics and Australian culture.
