The Mint of Porto closed permanently in 1721.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 3 Vinténs coin from Portugal is that it was minted during the reign of King João V, who was known for his lavish spending and ambitious projects, including the construction of the Royal Palace of Ajuda in Lisbon. Despite his efforts to modernize and strengthen the Portuguese economy, his reign was marked by financial difficulties and inflation, which led to the debasement of the Portuguese currency, including the 3 Vinténs coin. As a result, the coin's silver content was reduced from .9167 to .200 during his reign, making it less valuable than its earlier counterparts.
