Date of issue: 18 FEB 2003The Saint Daniel Monastery was founded at the end of the XIIIth century by Daniel of Moscow, first Moscow Prince (1261 - 1303), the son of Alexander the Nevsky. The architectural Ensemble of the monastery consists of the Church of the Holy Fathers of the Seven Ecumenical Councils (XVIIth - XIXth centuries), the Trinity Cathedral (built in 1833 - 1838 by architect O.I. Bove), the St. Daniel Necropolis.
