Date of issue: 16 SEP 1997According to the legend, the miraculous icon of the Birth-Giver-of-God «The Omen» was found in the woods near Kursk in 1295. In 1595 by order of the Tsar Feodor Ioannovich the monastery named the Nativity of the Birth-Giver-of-God Hermitage was built on that place, which grew in one of the biggest monasteries of Russia.
