Date of issue: 02 JUL 2007Built in 1862 - 1864. The erection of the modern building of the Kazan Railway Station began in 1913 (designed by the architect A.V. Schusev) and ended in 1940. The building has distinctive features of the Moscow and Kazan architecture styles of the XVIIth century.

The Kazan Railway Station coin is a unique piece of numismatic history because it was created to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Kazan Railway Station, which played a significant role in the development of Russia's railroad network.
