Date of issue: 27 MAY 2003The Ipatyevsky (St. Trinity) Monastery, situated on the spot where the Kostroma river flows into the Volga, was founded in the XIVth century. The architectural ensemble of the monastery includes fortress walls and towers (the XVIth - XVIIth centuries), the Trinity Cathedral (1650 - 1652) with the belfry (1603 - 1605), the Bishop Palace (the XVIth - XVIIth centuries), the boyars Romanoffs House (the XVIth - XIXth centuries).
