Comment
Slightly different design, with larger floral designs and letter, as well as a modified and “Strengthened” Bust of King George V.
David Vice states that this was struck at the Heaton Mint, despite the KN mint mark.

Interesting fact
The Pattern 3 Pence coin was designed by George Kruger Gray, a British artist and sculptor, and was minted in 1920 as a trial piece for the British West African colonies. The coin features a portrait of King George V on one side and a lion on the other, and was intended to replace the existing silver threepence coin in circulation. However, the brass version was not adopted for circulation and only a few pattern coins were minted, making it a rare and valuable collector's item today.
