Comment

Franz II of Habsburg (1768-1835) was last Emperor of the Holy Empire before its end (1806). Then he became Franz I Emperor of Austria until 1835.

1799 A, B, C issues (KM#2115.1) are bigger in diameter (30,9-31 mm), thicker (2,9-3 mm) and heavier (16-17 gr) and much scarcer than lighter coins struck in 1800 by the same mints (KM#2115.2).

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 3 Kreuzers coin from the Austrian Empire is that it was minted during a time of great economic and political change. The coin was issued during the reign of Francis II (1800-1803), who was the last Holy Roman Emperor and the first Emperor of Austria. This period saw the introduction of new economic policies and reforms, including the creation of a new currency system, which replaced the old system of guilders and florins with the krone and kreuzer. The 3 Kreuzers coin was a significant denomination in this new system and was widely used in trade and commerce.
