Comment
At least two varieties exist:
- KM 10.2, Ba 40 ha coat of arms with lion of Bronckhorst in quaters 1 and 4, Batenberg(?) in 2 and 3, and Stein (lozenges) in center.
- Variant in main photos has Bronckhorst in quarters 1 and 4, Stein (lozenges) in 2 and 3, and Batenberg (saltire) in center.
Interesting fact
The Barony of Batenburg, where this coin was minted, was a small state within the Dutch Republic, and it was known for its rich silver mines. The silver used to mint this coin was likely sourced from those very mines, making it a unique and valuable piece of numismatic history.
