The August III Sas (Drezno) 1763 3 Halerz coin from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was made of silver, but it was also one of the first coins to feature a portrait of a monarch on both sides. The obverse side features a portrait of King August III, while the reverse side features a portrait of his wife, Queen Maria Josepha. This unique design was a departure from the traditional coin designs of the time, which typically featured an image of a ruler on one side and a coat of arms or other symbol on the other.
